Welcome to my world!

Hello and thanks for coming! I decided to start a blog to share my journey into green-ness and give tips on how to save money by being green. Also I'll share how to make things yourself whenever possible.

Now I have to go find something to write about!

  1. If I could make more things myself, I totally would!! I feel limited in what I can do because I never learned how to sew. I will have to break down and take a class or get sewing lessons (do those even exist?!) one of these years!

  2. Tangy, yes! Joann fabric offers basic sewing lessons, as do many quilt shops! You can do a lot with a very basic machine. I think the hardest part about sewing is learning how to use the machine, honestly. I wanted to throw mine out the window many times in the beginning.

  3. Feel free to steel my blog post about making homemade laundry detergent. I love it plus it is soooo much cheaper. http://kirksrecipes.blogspot.com/2010/04/making-your-own-laundry-soap.html

  4. I was going to ask you if I could, Kendra. Cool.

  5. Yes, becoming familiar with the machine is the hardest part. It has been smooth sailing since I figured out the best feet, needle and fabric combo!

I look forward to reading your blogs, Mel :-)
